Welcome to Pumas UTAH, the exclusive official professional academy of Pumas UNAM from ciudad universitaria in Mexico City and one of the great soccer club in the history of Mexico, we are not a franchise we are Pumas and we represent the club history and all his philosophy.
Our mission is to promote and develop talent in Utah, using a successful training philosophy of Pumas Unam since 1954.
The club follows a training program that has been developed specifically for use by the Pumas UNAM , based on many years of physical, educational, and scientific experience. Pumas UNAM promotes the sport of competitive soccer by working to improve the physical, mental, and technical skills of each player by national and Olympic level programs.
We are one of the clubs that promotes more players to the Mexican National Team in all the division and promotes more players from the youth teams to the premier team.
Pumas UNAM will emphasize planned practices, teamwork, communication, respect, friendship and personal development as its primary goals. Players will be evaluated at the beginning of each season to develop a plan for each individual player.
As an official youth academy of PUMAS UNAM, players will have the opportunity to participate in the Fuerzas Basicas tournament in " La Cantera" in Mexico each year. Los PUMAS UNAM is the most successful club in the Mexican league. We are excited to bring a professional level youth academy to Utah.
Every Year PUMAS UNAM from Mexico will send a professional scout to Utah to evaluate the player and invite the most talented to participated in an official Try-out in "La Cantera" The professional development complex where the most talented youth player from around the world are located.
VISION
The Pumas UNAM vision in Utah is to become one of the most prestigious and competitive soccer clubs in the state and the country. We hope to gain the respect of our colleagues in each place that we play.
We want to develop players exactly like our kids in Mexico that will be able to earn college scholarships and positions on respected professional soccer clubs because of the skills they developed as part of PUMAS UNAM
OUR HISTORY
Club de Fútbol Universidad Nacional A.C., commonly known as Pumas de la UNAM, Pumas UNAM, UNAM, or Pumas, is a Mexican league footballclub based in Ciudad Universitaria in Mexico City. Club Universidad Nacional represent the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and play their home matches at Estadio Olímpico Universitario, located on UNAM's main campus.
Universidad Nacional is one of the most popular clubs in Mexico. They have won seven Primera División championships and four international titles. The team is also known for their youth development system which has produced international players such as Hugo Sánchez, Manuel Negrete, Luis Flores, Claudio Suárez, Luis García, Alberto García Aspe, David Patiño, Jorge Campos, Gerardo Torrado, Efraín Juárez, Héctor Moreno, Pablo Barrera, Israel Castro, Eduardo Herrera and Jesús Gallardo.
LOS PUMAS
Club Universidad Nacional was originally an amateur club of college students from the University's several schools and then developed into a professional team competing in the Mexican football league. It is now one of the biggest stadiums in all of Mexico. UNAM have evolved into one of the most popular Mexican teams and have gained an international following.
The team's blue and gold colors were selected as a tribute to the University of Notre Dame, whose football coaches helped to develop an American-style football team at the university. The nickname was inspired by Roberto 'Tapatio' Mendez, who coached the team from 1946–64 and whose motivational speeches often compared his players to pumas. The nickname stayed with the public, and all the athletic teams representing the University have been called Pumas.
Their home ground is the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, the setting for the 1968 Summer Olympic Games. It has a seating capacity of over 72,000. Olympic Academic Stadium is situated within the University campus which enables easy access by the University students. The Pumas have training facilities within the University campus but their main complex is the Cantera, located near the University.
LOS PUMAS is one of the most successful clubs in the Mexican League, was founded in August 28, 1952 and we are one of the club that produce more player for the Mexican national team and for our professional team. Every year player for our develop academy form part of the premier team and our development system is internationally recognized and is one of the best in North America.
We have one of the best developing training programs in the world for our boys and girls. The training program will focus on developing competition level skills for each player. We will train and evaluate each player in order to have the best results on the field and in training sessions. We will provide professional advice in every aspect of the game for the player.
Our goal is to train hard and have fun in each training session and in each soccer game
We will work to make each player a champions.
Twice a year Pumas will sends professional scouts to players in Utah . They invite the most committed and developed players to have a try out in “La Cantera” The High competitive professional center were the best soccer players from around the globe are brought. La cantera is located in Mexico City, Mexico. This week long tryout is offered at no expense to those that receive an invitation. Players who are selected will be living with the professional youth in a real environment and have the chance to complete their dream to play in one of the best professional teams in the world.
OUR STADIUM
Estadio Olímpico Universitario is a multi-purpose stadium located in Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico City. It was built in 1952 and at that time was the largest stadium in Mexico. This stadium has a capacity of 72,000.[2] The first major event held in the stadium was the 1955 Pan American Games. During the 1950s and the 1960s this stadium was used mostly for college American football matches between the largest Mexican public universities at the time: UNAM and IPN. From the late 1950s it was used for football matches, some American football matches and athletics contests. American architect Frank Lloyd Wright called it "the most important building in the modern
